Technical Business Development Manager

Salary basic up to £55,000 pa

plus Uncapped OTE Circa £90,000+

This is field based business development opportunity for someone experienced within a detailed and project management style sales approach. Covering the UK South region, they will be supported by head office lead generation team and expected to explore new opportunities. The ideal candidate will have strong technical/engineering sales ability along with exceptional customer relationships and engagement skills required for an often lengthy and timely sales cycle.

The ideal candidate will have experience of selling capital equipment and understand lease/rental /hire service contracts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Working with existing database of clients and building prospective customers to ensure all areas of potential gowth is explored. This would include promoting all products and services, ensuring client is aware of all solutions available to them
  • Self-generate new leads through building contacts and working with sales team
  • Diary Management to achieve weekly / monthly targets
  • Carry out site meetings / surveys
  • Consult new and existing customers on best fit products to meet their requirements
  • Re-contracting existing clients and increase spend and longevity of contractual terms
  • Ability to negotiate ensuring the very best price is obtained at all times
  • Regular and effective communication with the rest of the team to ensure SLA, KPI s and delivery dates are achieved
  • Produce detailed quotations and reports for new and existing customers
  • Provide realistic forecasting and closure information
  • Attend installations and collections
  • Regular review meetings to maintain healthy relationships
  • Identify competitor users within the field and keep a detailed log
  • Complete all paper work and supporting documents needed to raise contracts

Key Skills

  • Technical / Engineering sales experience essential with project management skills
  • Ability to develop new business within existing accounts and remain consistent throughout a long sales process
  • Ability to retain a positive relationship with your customer base
  • Tenacious, self-motivating and a positive attitude
  • Flexibility to travel as and where necessary – Overnight stays will be required on occasion
  • Business to Business Sales experience
  • Negotiation skills
  • Ability to close deals
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Computer Literate
  • Clean Driving Licence
