Job Title Software Developer Location Fully remote Salary £40,000 – £42,000 Benefits remote working, up to £100 per month contribution to office costs, private healthcare, contributory pension, 23 days Annual leave + statutory Bank holidays + birthday off Must have right to work in the UK About Us Our client is an established, growing company providing a start of the art technology platform for the sale and administration of insurance products. They are the technology platform for Commercial Lines Insurers, MGA s & Brokers. A heavily R&D based business who has continually invested in technology and has a cloud native offering with API first technology on Microsoft Azure. Job Overview Working on a PHP based platform for a global insurance brand for sale and administration of commercial insurance products for SME s. This means ensuring the system is operational and making generally small changes based on requirements that come from the business. There will be a period of transition from the PHP system to our clients .NET platform and therefore there is an opportunity to work on the current system and the migration and a career with our client as the business continues to grow. Responsibilities Defining technical requirements from non-technical language (COH and MD) Providing estimates for change requests Attending or client s customer development meetings Maintaining and making small changes to the PHP platform A contributing member of the dedicated team for our client s customer Helping with the PHP migration to our client s .NET based platform Essential Requirements Experienced with PHP in commercial environment Comfortable working with legacy PHP code (v5.5) (COH) Experience with the LAMP stack (Linux, Apache2, MySQL, PHP) (COH) Working knowledge of C# .NET Framework (MD) Experience with JavaScript (COH and MD) Desirable but not essential Building around existing complex code areas with little to no documentation (COH) Experience with GitLab CI or similar deployment scripting (COH) Experience with Docker (MD) Experience of some of these will be beneficial but an ability to learn and adapt is essential. Essential Attributes High attention to detail Strong communication skills as you will have direct communication with end client An ability to analyse issues and problem solve A positive approach and resilience, with a can-do mindset A team player who will add value to the growth and success of the business
