Lloyds Banking Group (LBG) realises that analytics and data are a significant business differentiator for financial services companies. LBG is looking to drive a more sophisticated approach to how it produces and distributes Analytics & Business Intelligence (BI) to enable all colleagues to make quicker, more data-led decisions and this role will be at the forefront of this effort.

You’ll lead the strategic direction and implementation for ESG scoring and Sustainability Analytics, Data Products and Tooling. Specifically, this role is responsible for leading the design and implementation of data processes required to support the Groups ESG commitments.

This role sits within the Chief Data & Analytics team and is focused on:

  • Supporting our Group’s Data Strategy

  • Becoming the Centre-of-Excellence, helping the business unlock the potential of data through innovative self-service reporting, analytics and insight

  • Building the “prime” content for a self-service “BI Marketplace” (think Amazon for BI) and the suite of reports for our Executives

  • Creating cutting-edge analytics, reporting and visualisation solutions to support our Group strategic programs / initiatives

  • Providing analytical support to the business to aid data driven decision making

The remit for this role is to lead successful ESG Sustainability Performance engagements, addressing our business challenges to deliver commercial success together with positive impacts for society and the environment.

Additionally you’ll;

  • Help deliver on engagements focused on – Sustainability strategy, ESG performance, reporting and analytics, climate and transitional risk and impact assessments, Sustainability business transformations

  • Leverage your consulting skills to understand and structure the business challenges; develop hypotheses on solutions; undertake market and trends assessments and develop business cases to unlock value and enhance sustainability outcomes

  • Use your deep industry knowledge and sustainability expertise to advise business on their sustainability transformation

  • Build relationships and develop your pipeline of work through opportunity, proposal, and commercial phase

  • Lead high performing multidisciplinary teams, leading by example, actively mentoring others and contributing to performance management and recruitment activities

  • Support knowledge building efforts such as developing offerings, assets, capabilities, and relevant thought leadership and engage with the wider Sustainability community across LBG

About you;

This is a unique opportunity to build on ESG/sustainability experience whilst further developing knowledge of social, environmental and governance drivers that contribute to sustainable business innovation and economic growth.

  • Experience in sustainability/ESG gained either in consulting or in an in-house ESG position

  • Can articulate ESG strategies that is tied to the business strategy & goals

  • A commercial approach to sustainability/ESG in a business context

  • Technical & Market experience in the ESG Landscape

  • Help build and establish relationships with clients and industry contacts.

  • Strong analytical skills plus monitoring, reporting, communication and presentation skills

  • Technical understanding of climate change issues and transition to net zero
