Sales and Business Development Executive
The client provides solutions to both private and public sector clients enabling them to collect and capture data relating to cyclists, pedestrians, vehicles, public transport passengers and air quality measurement.
The company offers a range of highly specialised sensors, which can be used individually to measure specific requirements, or combined to build sophisticated SMART City IoT data collection platforms.
Data is collected in real time and transmitted to a secure cloud platform from where it can be shared and analysed.
The technology is proven, high quality and IoT data collection is a rapidly growing sector of the IT market. The solutions are highly applicable to many areas of business and social engineering / IT infrastructure projects and several promising niche markets have been identified.
Having proven the technology and established a small but growing list of reference sites and customers the client is looking to expand sales activity and find more customers.
We are therefore looking to recruit an experienced solutions sales executive who has the skills to target, qualify and confidently engage with potential new customers with a view to increasing sales and market share.
The candidate will be supported by marketing programs, internal sales and technical support but will need to be self motivated and a capable of finding sales opportunities, driving the sales process and closing new business.
The company has found third party partnerships to be a good source of potential customers so the ability to work with and develop suitable partners would be a key requirement.
Other relevant experience and skills for the role include:
Previous experience of selling IT or technical solutions directly to end users or in partnership with 3rd party specialist partners.
Ability to understand, explain and clearly position the features and benefits of technical products.
Ability to respond to customers Statements of Requirements and Invitations to Tender through presentation of proposals and documented response.
Confidence in front of customers and the ability to present solutions in a clear and compelling manner.
Willingness to engage directly with customers face to face, by telephone and via social media platforms. Especially screen based meeting applications such as Zoom.
This is very much a sales, business development and customer engagement role with the emphasis and measurement of success based on results and new business acquisition.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced sales professional to join an exciting new and growing division of an established company and to get involved in the rapidly developing IoT solutions market at an early stage.
The client is based near Stockport in the Greater Manchester area. Although not essential, commutable proximity to the office would be a benefit.
The role will be initially desk / internally based with some external customer and partner visits. It is expected that the role will develop to encompass more external contact with customers depending on need and opportunity so a willingness to travel and spend occasional periods away from home would be necessary as the role evolves.
Package and remuneration
Base salary 30k
Bonus / commission
paid on Gross Margin generated on sales against target
