Salary: 57,575 – 61,730

5 YEAR FIXED TERM CONTRACT

WasteRecruit is thrilled to be working in close partnership with Merseyside Recycling and Waste Authority (MRWA) to source a Project Manager.

MRWA is about to embark on a 5-year project to develop and implement their Procurement Plan for a significant waste disposal service. To support this pivotal development, they are seeking a Project Manager to manage complex workstreams relating to the waste services project, whilst supporting their wider organisational, financial, strategic, procurement and supplier arrangements.

The postholder will work closely with relevant in-house expert officers/teams and external specialist support.

Key areas of work will include reviewing and maintaining workstreams in support of the procurement programme, alongside other associated workstreams, as well as monitoring and reporting on delivery, budget and risk. We are therefore looking for someone with significant project management, organisation and communication skills.

About You

You will have an excellent track record of managing projects within a complex environment using recognised industry standard project management methods, and delivering these projects to time, quality and cost.

You will possess exceptional people skills, with the ability to demonstrate initiative and prioritise effectively.

You will need to be able to maintain project documentation, have strong communication skills and be able to engage with stakeholders at all levels in a proactive, politically sensitive manner.

Essential Experience

  • Experience of working in a complex projects/programmes environment and delivery of outputs/outcomes to time, budget, quality, scope.
  • Experience in procurement of contracts, ideally within the waste sector.
  • Excellent supplier relationship, contract, and commercial management awareness.
  • Stakeholder engagement at all levels.
  • Strong self-starter and exceptional organisational skills.
