A London based University is seeking an organisational development and learning partner to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis.

Job duties:

Reporting into the head of learning and development; this role will be crucial in the design and delivery of key projects such as talent attraction and retention, leadership and management development, apprenticeship scheme, and staff engagement. You will also be required to take on other projects and responsibilities.

This role will be very varied and require someone who is able to deal with change in a fast-paced environment.

Projects worked on:

  • Designing programs and delivering them
  • Looking after corporate induction
  • This role is central to coordinating, facilitating, and delivering well
  • There is a 5-year people strategy plan in place
  • Projects around talent attraction and retention
  • This role is crucial in supporting the talent management procedures and key in attracting talent to the University
  • Apprenticeships: This person will be leading on their new apprenticeship plan, covering some roles into apprenticeships, and analysing how they currently use the apprenticeship levy
  • Staff engagement: A big part of the role is staff engagement and the annual poll surveyThis person will coordinate the annual staff survey, analyse feedback, prepare action plans, assist in making it a better place to work, it is going to be quite a manual process They are looking into sourcing an engagement software to be able to do that rather than manually
  • They do currently have a person onboard dealing with mental health and inclusion programmes, this person will work closely with them
  • This person will be the key contact between St Mary s and LinkedIn, they will ensure the company is utilising LinkedIn learning to the maximum, they will be involved in designing pathways and delivering training
  • Involved in appraisal process: They will have an online process, things like this are automated and training will be given
  • The way the team is set up they do have a lot of matrix work; they work very closely with the systems team
  • This role will be very closely linked with the HR team

Ideal candidate:


  • CIPD qualified or willing to work towards qualification with support from employer
  • Qualified in mental health first aid, or be willing to work towards this
  • Previous experience of learning and development workshop design and delivery
  • Report writing and data analysis skills
  • Knowledge of designing and delivering e-learning
  • An understanding of equalities, diversity and inclusion
  • Ability to build and maintain working relationships
  • A high level of communication
  • Innovative – able to come up with new ideas for improvement


  • Experience of working in higher education
