Multimedia Officer – Digital DurhamFull time contract3 month contract£14 / hourThis person will be responsible for content creation by developing a strategy, producing good social and video content, analysing usage data, filming, and managing projects and campaigns.Regular activities will include: Develop creative and engaging social media content. Manage content creation and the publishing of Manage the day-to-day handling of the corporate social media channels Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and YouTube and review existing content making clear recommendations on which channels to use. Set targets to increase brand awareness and increase post engagement. Oversee, plan, and deliver content across different platforms using scheduling tools. Create engaging multimedia content (and/or outsource this effectively) across multiple channels. Undertake audience research. Manage and respond to social media posts as required. Monitor, track, analyse and report on performance on social media platforms using tools such as Google Analytics and Facebook insights Analyse competitor activity. Recommend improvements to increase performance. Manage a budget for social media activities. Educate other staff on the use of social media and promote its use within the council. Manipulate and edit film pieces in a way that is invisible to the audience Take a brief to grasp production team’s needs and specifications Review shooting script and raw material to create a shot decision list based on scenes’ value and contribution to continuity Trim footage segments and put together the sequence of the film/post Input music, dialogues, graphics and effects Create rough and final video cuts Ensure logical video sequencing and smooth running Continuously discover and implement new editing technologies and industry’s best practices to maximise efficiency Requirements Proven work experience as a Video Editor Solid experience with digital technology and editing software packages (e.g. Avid Media Composer, Lightworks, Premiere, After Effects and Final Cut) Strong and decisive character who can take the lead in editing and approving content. Strong communication and people skills for articulating ideas to colleagues and clients The ability to work well under pressure to meet deadlines.
