The role

The Insight consultant role sits within Energy Saving Trust s Insight and Evaluation team, reporting into the Senior Insight & Analytics Consultant. In this role you have the opportunity to support the development and delivery of data analysis and consultancy projects, on a wide range of energy topics, for both internal teams and external clients in line with our mission to address the climate emergency. You will have a chance to work with a team with more than 20+ years of experience of data analysis, research and evaluation. With an expanding area of work, this is an opportunity to join a fast-paced team working on new and existing data and research projects.

What you ll do

As an analytical expert, with experience of analysing datasets, creating models and presenting data, you will support on, and manage data projects. You will critically review, update and improve methodologies, assumptions and models which underpin the organisation s energy saving and cost data and work closely as part of a team of analysts to interpret problems and develop effective solutions.

Your ability to plan and prioritise work is essential in this busy environment, along with demonstrated effective communication skills enabling you to deliver a high standard of customer service to people at different levels. Your experience of data analysis techniques will underpin the successful delivery of this role.

What you ll bring

• Experience of data manipulation, statistical analysis or data modelling
• An ability to process data into meaningful insights to communicate detailed, technical ideas in a clear, concise and engaging style (both written and verbal)
• Experience within climate change or related environmental areas and an understanding of policy in this area.
• Excellent computer and data skills – experience working with datasets. Expertise in Excel as well as other software such as R or Python.
• An ability to prioritise a busy work schedule and to share work and expertise amongst a small team
• An ability to work equally well as part of a team and autonomously

This is a permanent position. Our standard weekly hours are 37.5 hours, Monday to Friday. We are open to flexible working patterns and blended (home and office-based) working is possible for this role.
