Graduate Climate Trainee (Environmental Projects) – Post Ref: CC128 Salary: Scale 4 – 6, SCP 7-22, £20,092 – £27,514 per annum, 37 hours per week, two year fixed term contract
Calderdale Council is leading by example in the action against climate change. The Council has declared a Climate Emergency and an Ecological Emergency and committed its own operations and the Borough to becoming carbon neutral by 2038. We are now recruiting an Environmental Graduate Trainee to help deliver our work.
You will work as part of a small, diverse team to help identify, develop and deliver low carbon and environmental projects. Your work is likely to be varied; involving communication and outreach, research, feasibility work, supporting funding bids and project setup. The successful candidate should have a good knowledge of current environmental issues, policies and legislation, be capable of manipulating and interpreting data, have good verbal and written communication skills and good teamworking skills.
This role will offer the successful candidate experience in moving environmental projects from concept to real-world delivery and in working in partnership with diverse stakeholders.
