Lloyd Recruitment Services has partnered with a prestigious media and events company in South London to present an enticing opportunity for an Editor to manage a leading financial portfolio. This role covers both the print magazine and the daily website, providing an unparalleled news service coupled with in-depth market analysis and commentary. If you’re an experienced Editor, this is your moment to shine!

Role Overview:

As the Editor, you’ll take on the crucial role of overseeing the entire editorial process. This includes managing people, ensuring operational efficiency, and crafting strategic approaches to expand the reach of print and online offerings. You’ll also be responsible for cultivating digital and web brands, as well as curating engaging events to support the brand’s growth and commercial activities.

Key Responsibilities:

Crafting Strategy:

  • Develop comprehensive digital and print content strategies to preserve and elevate the brand’s reputation
  • Collaborate closely with commercial teams to unlock revenue-generating opportunities
  • Be the brand’s ambassador at external events and network as needed
  • Ensure our audience enjoys top-quality experiences, reinforcing the brand’s value

Operational Excellence:

  • Take charge of content accuracy, quality, platform compatibility, and audience suitability, both in print and online
  • Manage delivery schedules and deadlines for news and feature articles
  • Maintain a well-structured production schedule, ensuring on-time magazine publication
  • Source article topics through your professional network and encourage your team to do the same
  • Skilfully edit features, ensuring they meet publication standards, including requesting revisions
  • Produce a compelling weekly leader column

Talent Leadership:

  • Oversee a team of contributors, comprising 7 direct reports
  • Ensure the strategy resonates with all team members, aligning their contributions with the business goals
  • Facilitate staff training and development as needed, ensuring everyone stays updated and aligns with the ambitious objectives through the performance management system
  • Address resourcing, people management, performance, and training concerns among your direct reports

Financial:

  • Manage content-related expenses to meet or stay under the annual budget

Skills and Experience:

  • Demonstrated expertise in journalism
  • Proficient in generating valuable and insightful written content and editing, both your work and that of others
  • Comprehensive knowledge of print publication processes, as well as online and digital content
  • A thorough understanding of the financial market

  • Competitive salary up to £53,000 with a 10% bonus, totalling £58,300 per annum
