About the role…
We are looking for an experienced Digital Content Designer to work within our Digital Marketing Team to embed and share best practice content design principles across the British Red Cross website to help, support and engage our different audiences.
What you will be doing?
The role of Digital Content Designer is about embedding content design principles across our website at the British Red Cross. You will do this by demonstrating the value of a user-centred approach and work with the Digital Content and Experience Lead to develop relevant toolkits, quality standards and training for wider stakeholders.
You will lead the design and improvement of content across the British Red Cross website (and wider digital estate as needed), ensuring engaging, relevant content is provided to users in the right place on our site and in the best format.
What we are looking for
To succeed in the role you will have knowledge and passion for web accessibility, content design and UX principles. You will also have:
– In-depth knowledge of SEO best practice and techniques.
– Knowledge of digital storytelling and understanding of how multimedia content can enhance website user experience.
– Experience of using a web content management system.
– Experience with using relevant software (Adobe Photoshop), CMS systems, and Analytics packages.

Reporting to the Digital Content and Experience Lead, this role sits sit within the Strategy and Communications Directorate which tells the stories about who we are, what we do, what we believe, and the difference we make to people’s lives – so that both externally and internally people act, behave, or make decisions in a way that results in a positive change for people in crisis
