Information Services is a central professional service department that provides IT services to all GCU branches in different geographical locations.

This role will mainly focus on working as part of a team or individually, to provide the technical leadership necessary to manage, provide, support and develop the University s IT Infrastructure Services. The post holder will technically lead, manage and continually develop an integrated service portfolio for Information Services within their technical area of expertise, and will be responsible for the delivery of infrastructure technology services and day to day service operations, availability and capacity management.

The successful candidate will have extensive experience in an IT Infrastructure (or equivalent) role, experience of leading and managing project teams delivering technology services, upgrades and implementations, with the ability and vision to contribute to IT Services policy and University Strategy.

They should hold a degree or recognised IT/information qualification, or have the ability to demonstrate extensive relevant experience and be able to apply Cyber and Information Security practices and standards to technology projects.

The candidate should also have good documentation and communication skills, be able to work independently and demonstrate an ability to share complex ideas with groups of people of various technical abilities.

Ideally, the successful candidate would have experience of using ITIL standard processes for IT Service Management, an Information Security qualification, or equivalent professional experience and Prince2 Project Management qualification (or other formal project management methods).

Previous experience of working within the HE sector is desirable.
