Customer Service Advisor – Sales

You’ll be working for Saint-Gobain Building Distribution (SGBD) Minster in West Drayton. Minster is one of more than 30 exciting Saint-Gobain brands in the UK and our mission is ‘to be recognised as the first choice distribution partner for interiors and external envelope solutions’.

Our branch colleagues and sales experts are knowledgeable and ready to support even the most complex of projects, to help our customers enjoy a hassle-free personalised trading experience. We work hard to ensure that Minster is easy to do business with, and harder to live without.

A great Sales Advisor at Minster will put the customer first, focusing on finding solutions for them and building trust. Truly acting as an entrepreneur you will be proactive, taking time to understand your customers. You’ll also show resilience when things don’t go according to plan; being open to new ideas and happy to learn.

There is some specific experience, skills and knowledge we are looking for from suitable candidates:

Proven experience in a proactive sales environment – building new business and handling lapsed accounts
Some knowledge or experience of working within a similar industry would be great but not essential
Ability to influence and build rapport quickly with our customers
Proficient MS Office skillsHours of Work – 7am – 5pm Monday to Friday

Training – Our training starts on your first day with your induction to Minster and Saint Gobain, from there you will receive regular supplier training and systems training, 1-1’s throughout to help support you with your learning and development. There will also be varied training courses to help build your skills and product knowledge along the way, you will learn on the job with us but with a great team and manager by your side every step of the way!

What will I be doing in the role?
Our Customer Service sales advisors are important contributors to the performance of the business and to ensure our customers have a positive experience with us. As part of an internal sales team, you will be expected to build relationships and develop sales opportunities with internal/external customers and suppliers. To support our customers effectively you will:

Maximising customer calls to support achievement of sales and profit targets through upselling and cross-selling relevant products offering specific product advice
Processing customer orders and actively contact lapsed accounts
Continuously look for opportunities to improve product and industry knowledge
Ensure that the branch is the best provider of customer service locally and nationally as defined by the Customer
Build awareness of local market competition; keeping us at the forefront of our industry
