Job Details:

COMMUNCATIONS LEAD (Part time – 0.6 FTE)

An exciting opportunity to join a small charity, the Daphne Jackson Trust that punches above its weight and has an excellent reputation.

This is a new role for an experienced communications professional who would like the challenge of working in a sole charge capacity but with a small close knit and very friendly team. Whilst we are looking for someone who can demonstrate excellence and experience in communications, having the confidence and personality to develop new working relationships and a genuine interest in the work of the Trust is essential.

Based at the University of Surrey, the Trust offers Fellowships for returners to research after a career break of two years or more. It can be almost impossible for many researchers to return to their careers at the right level without the help of a Daphne Jackson Fellowship, as it offers the opportunity to re-establish professional credentials and obtain a recent research record whilst retraining and renewing skills that are essential for a future career.

Although a small organisation, the Trust is a very successful and influential charity which has an excellent track record of interacting at senior levels in academia, with policy makers and charities. It is an exciting time for the Trust as we are developing a new type of Fellowship and are increasing our Policy work.

The Communications Lead role is offered flexibly at 0.6 FTE and is based at the Trust Office in the Physics Department at the University of Surrey with scope for a hybrid working arrangement. Please see the full job description on our website for more details on the role or call Katie Perry for an informal chat.

Equality, diversity and inclusion is vital for our society, our communities and our workplaces. All of us should have the opportunity to develop our skills and reach our full potential whatever our identity or background. As such we welcome applications from all individuals and backgrounds.

We believe that equality, diversity and inclusion are essential for creative, collaborative and dynamic workplaces. At the Trust, we are committed to creating a workplace that is fair and inclusive, and which welcomes diversity. We value all our staff and recognise the contribution and potential of every individual. As a prospective member of the Team, it is important that you embrace our position on this.

Salary offered is pro rata of £32,000. Closing date for applications is 12 noon on Friday 2 September with applications reviewed on a rolling basis up to the deadline.

Please send a CV and covering letter of no more than two sides of A4 each stating where you saw the role advertised and why you think you would be suitable to Dr Katie Perry, Chief Executive, at the Daphne Jackson Trust . Further information on this role and a job description are available to download from our website.
