We are working with an industry leader in the Rail Components sector currently on the lookout for a Business Development Manager to join their team to take authority over developing existing key accounts and generate new business within the UK Rolling Stock Industry.

Candidates must have experience of selling products into the Rail sector, whilst candidates will ideally have exposure selling components into the manufacture of trains through manufacturers such as Alstom, Hitachi and Siemens. We would also have a great interest in applicants that have sold products within track maintenance & equipment.

This is a home-based classic BDM role with travel to an office in the south required approximately once a month. Candidates must be self-starters, happy building opportunities from the ground up, pitching on current projects whilst building a pipeline and strategy for the future, comfortable discussing products with engineers in technical environments.

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the successful Business Development Manager will take responsibility for revenue in the defined vertical market of Rolling Stock, both new builds, refurbishments and spare, and platform build and redevelopment, for a particular range of successful product which can be manufactured in the UK to bespoke specifications.

The role is UK centric currently in terms of market, and you will be an integral part of the ongoing development of their go-to-market strategy, identifying market opportunities, arranging meetings with technical specialists at target organisations with the purpose of winning contracts for the provision of rail components. You will contribute and deliver a growth plan, and work closely alongside the in-house engineering team to assist with product development, utilising market knowledge to grow existing accounts and bring new products to market.
