Business Development Manager

£45K – £50k with company car/car allowance


40 hours per week

Monday to Friday, however due to the nature of the role you will be expected to adopt a flexible approach to meet the needs of the business

Ideal Recruit are currently looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to join our busy client s team to expand their network across the Midlands and the south of England. You will maximise revenue and generate opportunities by promoting products and services to customers. Identify, negotiate, and close contracts with the aim of maximising market and sector demand. Establish and obtain new clients and nurture all business relationships supporting the overall business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

Build and execute an effective Business Development Strategy
Meet and exceed monthly revenue targets by proactively sourcing prospects
Grow and develop existing customer base identifying and developing new business opportunities / leads from new and existing clients at all stages of the sales cycle and pass these to all relevant departments, if not suitable for your pipeline
Ensure that future business development is planned to utilise a business prospect listing approach
Generate and distribute specific reports
Focus on attracting and retaining profitable business maintaining a robust pipeline
Represent the client and their policies to the clients which are defined as “Strategic Accounts”
Identifying key accounts
Maintain a good understanding of the business products/services and industry competition through self-development
Utilise LinkedIn sales stream and additional social media platforms using tried and tested methods
Create and own a new CRM system and act as a super user for the business
Generate, distribute, and present daily/weekly sales reports and updates to the stakeholders of the business
Create additional revenue streams, and focus on internal KPI s across all divisions of the business
Attend conferences and events to build relationships with industry partners and staying up to date with new trends
This list is not exhaustive, and the position holder may be required to undertake other duties commensurate within the position as required. The Company reserves the right to amend duties and responsibilities in response to changing business circumstances.


Bachelor s degree in business, marketing, or related field
Solid Commercial acumen with the passion and drive to sell ideas, products and services and a strategic approach to securing new business
Practical experience in sales, marketing, or related field within a 3PL or similar capacity
Team player and energetic with the ability to think outside the common box
Technical skills to understand and propose products or solutions by focusing on the client s requirements
Strong communication skills both written and verbal with the ability to develop a good rapport with clients/customers
Ability to manage complex projects and multi-task
Ability to flourish with minimal guidance, be proactive and handle uncertainty
IT Literacy with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
Report any concern
Always wear the correct PPE
Abide by the clean as you go policy
