Business Development Lead | London, N1 9JP | Full Time|This position is home-based with some essential travel requirement to London | £30,000-£32,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.

Established in December 2013, Betknowmore UK’s mission is to address gambling-related harm in UK communities. Betknowmore is a leading provider of gambling support and training services. We provide award-winning services which embrace the insight and knowledge of ‘Experts by Experience’ combined with evidence-based approaches. At our core is the ‘lived experience’ of gambling dependency and recovery, from the Founder to the support team to the Management Board.

We’re looking for someone who can work with our trading company to help us sell vital training products to a wide range of commercial audiences. You’ll be working with an experienced manager who’s already brought in six figures worth of sales in the last few months, and he’ll support you in your development, but you will have the scope to operate with reasonable independence. The training you’re selling will help reduce the harms caused by gambling; the funds it brings in will be used to further this mission. An understanding of and commitment to this mission is essential!

This is a fixed-term appointment for 12 months initially, subject to satisfactory role performance.

Knowledge of sales and marketing principles and real-world application
Understanding and awareness of gambling harms and its potential impacts
An appreciation of the voices of lived experience and how these aid learning and development
Sensitivity and awareness of the impact of gambling harm on individuals and communities and a commitment to ongoing learning and developing practice
Sensitivity and awareness of the impact of suicide on individuals and communities and a commitment to ongoing learning and developing practice
Good understanding of the principles of the License Condition Code of Practice (LCPP) and its relevance to the training
Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to excellence in training and customer service
Excellent relationship management skills with the ability to motivate and inspire others
A strong track record of achieving sales targets
Strong administration, time management, and prioritising skills
Excellent written communication and the ability to develop engaging presentations
Demonstrable diplomacy and ability to work in confidence to safeguard relationships
Ability to use Microsoft suite
Experience of working within the gambling sector
Experience working in or with third sector organisations
What will my role as a Business Development Lead look like?

To develop and implement a sales strategy for both the Safer Gambling Training and Phase Red programmes
To deliver on sales targets
To contribute to and support the marketing strategy for both programmes
To engage with gambling operators, local authorities and other relevant trade associations
To research potential customers, writing, planning, and delivering engaging approaches to secure their support
Develop a portfolio of relationships with organisations, delivering prospects/ pipeline income
Report on throughput and income generation with accurate forecasting in an accessible way
Use insight gathered from relationships to influence and support the continuous development of content and processes
To support the improvement and evaluation process, facilitating modifications to structure, content and delivery as agreed with the project manager
To keep updated on latest statistics, trends and reports relating to gambling behaviours and harms, to best support and inform the organisations we work with
Act as ambassador for both programmes, representing the partnership at key events both in the UK and abroad
To adopt a mindset of continuous improvement in relation to customer service, ensuring that relationships are appreciative and trusted in alignment with brand and values
To collaborate with the wider Safer Gambling Training, Phase Red and BKM teams to facilitate a collaborative, supportive and passion-led workplace
