This long-established but growing business that manufactures and supplies a thousands of diverse range of industrial products including PPE, industrial paints and adhesives to blue-chip clients including Defence, Telecoms, Utilities, Construction, Pharmaceutical, manufacturing, engineering and food production as well as providing tailored global procurement solutions across thousands of industrial supplies products
With a hunter mentality and proven track record of winning new work you will be given the freedom to use your own sales initiative, and the support of the internal commercial, product and customer service teams, so you can concentrate on getting new business in and smoothly transition customers to a team you can rely on. This is strictly a New Business role not Account Management.
As one of the first people a prospective customer meets you must be professional, articulate and engaging, representing our brand to the highest standard at all times. You will be driven to succeed, confident communicating at all levels, from making cold calls to presenting to Heads of Procurement from large blue-chip companies. Using both field-based sales and tele-sales activities you will acquire new, retain existing and re-active lapsed accounts to support business growth. Duties include: –
Identification of new market sectors and potential customers, developing and maintaining a targeted sales pipeline to consistently initiate contact and win new business. Typical customer spend can range from £400K – to £1M
Producing and presenting tailored quotations and proposals to meet customer needs and profitability targets.
Liaising with relevant internal departments, including the product and commercial teams, to obtain information and advice about products, services, and promotions.
Using market awareness and product knowledge to provide prospective customers with detailed information and compelling proposals to secure new accounts.
Negotiating sales and contractual terms of business, using pricing structures to win and maintain profitable long-term accounts.
Regularly updating company systems, detailing prospecting work conducted, sales pipeline and outcomes.
Where required, travelling to appointments across the UK as required, with up to two nights away per week
Meeting customers face to face and via Zoom/Teams
To apply you must have: –
Recent proven experience in new business development, or lead generating sales role ideally.
Experience selling products in a Business to Business (B2B) environment – essential
Ideally you will have worked within a manufacturing/MRO products supplier business (not essential)
Ability to work with and develop business opportunities across and within multiple market sectors Utilities, Manufacturing, Transportation, Defence, Construction, Engineering, Food Production or Telecoms would be ideal
Strong IT skills (i.e., Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint)
Must live within twenty miles of Greater Manchester
