Operating in our Ledger Lab, and existing within the Design Oversight & Support team – the role supports applying traditional business analysis and specialist process design skills to identify business needs, analyse requirements, and to shape initiatives with operating model and design impacts.
Primarily the role provides reactive support and ownership to build and craft design solutions and artefacts to inbound change projects, with opportunities to own Lab-specific processes to improve efficiency, speed and quality of our operations.
What would you get involved with?
You would work with SME’s within the Ledger Lab’s Feature Teams, architects within the Business Design team, equivalent peers within other labs, and representatives from project teams to build custom designs which describe target Ledger options and resultant solutions.
You would have the opportunity to feed into designs of a significant portfolio of inbound change work across a varied body of work – including engineering change, business process change, new IT software implementation initiatives etc.
Working in a cross-disciplinary team, you would act as an advocate for the following outcomes within design solutions:
- Simplification of our IT estate
You would encourage projects to deploy strategically sound designs wherever possible, helping to enable the move to the group’s target strategic general ledger.
You would support the Product Owner in validating requirements and proposed solutions with stakeholders, gaining relevant approval through internal governance forums – supporting Architects to ensure requirements and proposed solutions are aligned with strategy, and actively contributing to defining and updating the operating model and associated process documentation.
What do you need to be considered for this job?
We want you to comfortable in a hands-on design curation role, blending both proven business architecture experience and software engineering familiarity. The applicant will be dynamic, adaptable, and happy to use and learn new skills in a variety of circumstances.
They will be a great communicator, with extensive stakeholder management experience, with a recognised ability to influence others to arrive at strategically sound outcomes.
They will be capable of delivering clear and concise messages to different teams and stakeholders, with an interest in telling compelling stories via their presentation skills. Other proficiencies include:
- Facilitating efficient and effective decision making.
- Being confident in validating, challenging and refining designs & solutions.
- Having fantastic negotiating skills – displaying an ability to ensure all parties feel understood & are satisfied with outcomes.
- Having the ability to successfully resolve misunderstandings and unblock issues.
- A proven understanding of business analysis techniques and business architecture methodologies and their practical application, particularly analytical thinking and problem solving.
- Exposure to systems thinking, business architecture and agile change delivery which can be used to influence and drive consistent ways of working.
