As a Barclays Social Media Manager, you will sits within the UK Cards marketing team supporting in the development and delivery of our social media content and campaigns to support a range of brand, customer and commercial objectives. This includes planning, content production, paid media planning and reporting. 

About us: 

Our UK Cards function is responsible for Barclaycard’s consumer credit card business. We’ve been a key player in the UK market since we launched the first UK credit card in 1966 and have been an important part of the Barclays group since.  The UK Cards Marketing Team serves the Barclaycard UK consumer market supporting the delivery of new customers, asset growth and incremental spend, as well as responsibility for implementing and executing the Barclaycard brand strategy for UK consumers. We are experts in Marketing, supporting the business in a variety of disciplines: Marketing strategy, customer segmentations, new product development, insights, through-the-line communications, Digital experience and channel execution.

As a Social Media Manager, your main responsibilities will involve:

  • Managing key brand, customer and commercial social campaigns as well as content 
  • End-to-end planning, production, paid media planning and reporting and working with other marketing teams to drive integration
  • Managing budgets for allocated campaigns, ensuring we have the right budget split between content production and amplification
  • Working collaboratively with stakeholders and other marketing teams to ensure our plans and content is integrated delivering against objectives
  • Working with our agencies, partners and social platforms to build and deliver industry leading social content and ensure we’re delivering against or driving best practice within the market

As a Social Media Manager, your skills and qualifications will include:

  • Experience in managing full end-to-end social media campaigns to support a range of brand, customer and commercial measures
  • Great creative judgement and with the ability identify strong ideas that really cut-through in a crowded social space, whilst support our objectives
  • Confidence in managing data to understand and drive media, targeting and performance
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to challenge internal barriers and boundaries when necessary
  • A willingness to explore innovative new ideas, formats and to continually build own social, content and broader marketing skills and knowledge
