What you'll do...

Reporting into our Security Vulnerability Manager, our Cyber Security Specialist will play a crucial role in supporting and developing our threat and vulnerability management regime.

Our Security Specialists are responsible for providing best-practice security guidance via technical guidelines and risk assessments, coordinating vulnerability remediation activities with engineers, and re-testing to ensure vulnerability remediation. Specialists work closely with the central Security team, as well as with in-tribe triage contacts, engineers and product owners to champion the vulnerability remediation lifecycle. Specialists act as the business owner's subject matter experts on vulnerability impact and risk, providing guidance on root cause, and managing the full lifecycle of reported vulnerabilities through to closure.

Working across Tribes, Security Specialists are responsible for reviewing and validating findings and then agreeing remediation actions and timescales with stakeholders, reporting on progress by means of report packs and metrics. Specialists may also be called upon to support vulnerability remediation activities arising from audit findings or from our highly successful bug bounty program.

How you'll do it...

  • Review, validate and assess vulnerabilities, prioritising and triaging them for engineers and product owners.
  • Report and track remediation activities to central Security team and management.
  • Advise technical and non-technical audiences on appropriate prioritisation of patch deployment.
  • Manage vulnerability remediation through re-test & closure.
  • Act as local liaison for the Information Security team, whilst embedded within a product-focused Tribe.
  • Collaborate with teams and stakeholders to create both tactical and strategic plans as it relates to Vulnerability Management services.
  • Develop innovative CI-integrated tooling to reduce vulnerability introduction.
  • Provide security and remediation advice to cross-business stakeholders, across web application, networking, DC and Cloud/server less technologies.
  • Champion security best practice within embedded Tribes.

Skills you will use...

  • Experience or familiarity in supporting compliance and due-diligence led activities, risk assessments and audits.
  • Sound understanding of network/infrastructure and firewall configuration.
  • Sound understanding of web application weaknesses and anti-patterns (CWE, OWASP).
  • Experience of Infrastructure and Web Application Scanning tools (e.g. Qualys, Nessus, NeXpose).
  • Experience with emerging and maturing technologies including cloud security, server less architecture and containerisation.
