Answering the question “Tell me about yourself” during a job interview can be tricky, especially if you don’t have a lot of work experience. Emphasise your transferable skills

The important thing is to focus on what you do have, which is a strong educational background, transferable skills, and passion for the job, and to communicate those to the interviewer in a confident and enthusiastic manner. Remember that interviewers aren’t just looking for candidates with experience, but also for people who are eager to learn and grow in their careers.

    As a recruiter, I asked this question almost in every interview and 90% of the time, candidate’s answer start with ‘My name is abc and I am XX years old, I am from xyz country etc..’ Which is (IMO) not what interviewers expect when they ask this question. The best way is to start with your qualifications, then talk about your experience and skills, end it with how these will benefit the hiring company. Also throw in some of your hobbies, likes and dislikes.
