Unique opportunity for a 3rd line Network Engineer (Cisco) to join a core infrastructure team in a leading publishing and magazines companies in the UK. The lucky individual will be joining a team of technology focused professionals who are working in a Cisco, Linux and VMware environment – however the requirements for this positions are purely CISCO/Network based (Linux and VMware would be an advantage). You will be monitoring, maintaining and performing daily operational support to an enterprise IT environment.
Duties:
• Problem diagnosis, troubleshooting, escalation and notification for all networking related products/hardware
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in complex systems and drive performance optimisations
• Ensure availability of infrastructure and back-office related services
Essential Experience Required:
• At least 3-4 years proven experience supporting high level enterprise Network solutions
• Excellent knowledge of Cisco hardware – including Switches firewalls, routers to include Cisco 6500, Cisco ASA and Nexus
• Confident working with Cisco IOS, VLANS, EIGRP, BGP and high-available environments
• Knowledge of Cisco wireless systems
• Understanding of VPNs
• Previous experience of monitoring networks using Cacti, Nagios, Intermapper
