Our client, based in central Manchester is currently recruiting for a Desktop Support Manager to join their fantastic, market leading company on a permanent basis.

The ideal candidate will have experience managing and supporting Desktop Support Technicians in a large IT environment. You must be confident to go out to the business to understand IT requirements and requests and ensure that live systems are operational at all times. Acting as an escalation point for the team and building strong, effective working relationships with all stakeholders and end users.

Key responsibilities for the Desktop Support Manager:

- Management of Desktop Support Technician team including conducting 1 to 1?s, recruitment, appraisals, disciplinarians and identifying training needs
- Making sure KPI?s and SLA?s are adhered to
- Engage with the business to understand IT requirements and requests, expanding the desktop support team?s relationship with all areas of the business
- Manage 3rd party supplier teams, participating in service review meetings
- Provide enhanced support levels to VIP?s within the business
- Manage all technical and hierarchical escalations and complaints made regarding IT service
- Make sure best practice is being adhered to through all offices

Key skills and experience:

- Demonstrate evidence and experience of strong leadership and people management skills
- Experience managing a Desktop, customer facing, IT support team
- Experience working within a large, fast paced business
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to be able to communicate with all levels of a business
- ITIL experience would be advantageous
- Engaging and approachable
- Proactive mind set with the ability to prioritise work loads
