The Water and Utilities sector is one of Arcadis' core markets, a position it has held throughout our 150-year history, and we pride ourselves on delivering new and exciting solutions for utility infrastructure schemes.
Our Water and Utilities team is involved in some of the UK's most complex and stimulating projects that are diverse and technically demanding. We have an enviable reputation in the delivery of such schemes and are working closely with some of the UK's most established and recognisable utilities companies, including fulfilling a key role in Welsh Water's Capital Delivery Alliance.
We are seeking to recruit an Innovation Manager to be based from Welsh Water's Capital Delivery offices in Newport, to play a key role in driving forward the innovation agenda across the Alliance. To be considered, we are seeking candidates with the following credentials.
Sound technical knowledge - quick to grasp technical solutions that will facilitate a contextual understanding of ideas/innovations proposed Project management experience Construction industry knowledge required: knowledge of the water sector preferred Recognition as an existing water industry technical leader will be advantageous Proven track record of successful management and delivery of innovation within a capital programme context Exhibit behaviours consistent with the Alliance vision and values Excellent Knowledge Management skills A demonstrable track record of promoting and driving innovation to produce optimal solutions at lowest whole life costs Collaborative approach and good communication skills
Duties & Responsibilities
To provide leadership, coordination and direction to the Alliance Innovation Programme.
This role will have no direct reports but will necessitate relationship building (internal and external) to influence a wide variety of networks within DCC, design and delivery partners and the supply chain.
Own, develop, manage and report on a portfolio of ideas within the Alliance framework Maintain the Innovation Log and assign items to the relevant efficiency levers Work with efficiency lever owners to ensure the innovation programme is an embedded efficiency Develop and maintain networks across Capital Delivery Alliance Partners and DCC Innovation Functions Develop networks with the design and construction partners innovation functions (at a UK and Global level) Through the Alliance partners, create networks for sharing innovation and best practice with other water companies Organise 'Lunch & Learn' sessions for the Alliance Scout new ideas and best practice from out of sector that may have water applications Participate and be the Alliance link into the DCWW innovation fora Work with the supply chain to leverage supply chain links for innovative products and technologies Attend sector and out of sector conferences and events where appropriate to communicate and gather innovation activities and ideas and to further develop networks Ensure that we are communicating innovation opportunities and activities to all relevant stakeholders who have a business interest in the innovation outcomes Participate in thought leadership opportunities to communicate Alliance direction, successes and challenges, e.g. UK Water papers, DCC internal conference presentations, presentations at water industry conferences etc Leading by example to promote an Injury Free Environment
