Here at Bubble (as you might have guessed!) we love social media so we’re always excited when new social media jobs appear on the site – and this week, it’s been like Christmas come early!
Yep, for some weird reason it seems June is the month recruiters and employers want to give social media pros a nice, shiny new job so this week’s Wrap-Up is focused solely on our social media and community management vacancies.
Before I get into what’s up for grabs this week, I just want to point you in the direction of my ‘5 Reasons You’re Not Getting That Social Media Job‘ – you never know, it might make all the difference should you choose to apply for any of this week’s vacancies!
A fan of football and social media? This could be the perfect job – Manchester United are looking for a Social Media Campaign Manager to join their team at Old Trafford. Taking ownership of the club’s global and local social media campaigns, you’ll be responsible for creating engaging content that excites supporters and bloggers and raises the club’s already exceptional profile. Key tasks include scheduling campaign activity, commissioning design and app development and tracking and reporting performance. Think you could be the right person to lead social media landmark campaigns for one of the world’s highest profile sporting brands? The right candidate will have indepth knowledge of social media platforms (including Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, Google+ and Flickr), experience managing major campaigns for global brands and strong commercial accumen. Needless to say, a familiarity with the sporting sector is essential, while experience in blogger outreach and managing relationships with key influencers through social media would be a bonus!
Next up, Bonobo are searching for a Community Manager to join a growing digital communications agency based in London. From setting up social media channels for clients to managing suppliers that create image and video content and writing blog posts, you’ll do it all in this role – and you’ll also be responsible for keeping clients updated with project delivery. Other key responsibilities involve reviewing user generated content, auditing social media channels, ensuring social activity is always aligned to business objectives using social listening and management tools like Hootsuite and Conversocial. Sound good? The right candidate for this vacancy will already have lots of experience working as a Community Manager and moderator – building online communities using engaging content across Facebook, Twitter and Instagram and will have strong communication skills. Experience of developing and implementing social strategies, strong copy skills and an understanding of the delivery processes of wider digital projects is also essential.
In third place this week, Pathfinders Recruitment are searching for a Social Media Content Manager (Films) to work on projects for major film clients in Reading. Working with major film studios and other global brands, you’ll be responsible for planning and executing content strategies that engage film fans across social channels, web and mobile. You’ll also get to create and curate promotional content for global brands, with a particular emphasis on film and entertainment. Sound like your kind of thing? The ideal candidate will have a knack for writing great copy, know social media inside out and have around two years of experience in social media and digital content campaign creation. They’ll also be able to deliver communications across multiple platforms including websites, blogs, mobile, Twitter and Facebook.
Next up, Source are searching for a Head of Social to join a creative PR, Social and Events agency in Central London. Working on major industry brand names, you’ll be responsible for running their Social department – no pressure then! You’ll act as the ‘go-to’ person for social media queries (both internally and externally) and you’ll be responsible for maintaining existing relationships with key clients and developing new business and managing outreach campaigns. Intrigued? To stand a chance of securing this role, you’ll need to have proven experience of creating engaging social media campaigns and strategies, a strong network of blogger and influencer contacts and previous agency environment experience at a senior level (either within a social media or PR agency). You’ll also need to be able to multitask and influence peoples’ way of thinking – and you’ll need to be well versed in leading high profile campaigns.
This week we’ve saved the best until last! We’re looking for a Social Media Marketing Manager to join our very own team at Bubble HQ in Tarporley Cheshire. Yes, you did read that right – this is your chance to join the team behind your favourite jobs board (note – I said jobs board, NOT recruiter!!). We’re looking for someone who can drive our social media community across platforms like Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Google+ and Pinterest and who can really take our presence to the next level. Key responsibilities include the daily management of our channels, using social media to promote individual job vacancies in specific industries/locations, contributing to our daily blog and exploiting the potential of social media to promote our range of advertising solutions. OK, so who are looking for? We’re looking for a social media expert – we need someone who has a genuine grasp of how to leverage established and new social media platforms for effective marketing and previous experience in a similar commercial role. We’re looking for an innovator – not someone who’s happy to just tread water!
