It seems like yesterday that we were celebrating the New Year and making our resolutions and already we are entering into February! Keeping up with the New Year, new job promise, this week we’ve rounded up five of the best engineering roles. Whether it’s digital, data or software engineering that you fancy, take a peek at what could be your next challenge this year.

Sky_Betting_and_Gaming_company_logo First up this week, Sky Betting & Gaming are looking for an Engineer Manager to join their team in Leeds. In this job you will perform a managerial role overseeing a number of different teams including designers, developers, testers and DevOps engineers to deliver and support rich internet applications (RIA). You will use a number of open source technologies including LAMP, NodeJS, Mongo and Redis, whilst providing technical leadership for all Software Performance and DevOps Engineers. The ideal candidate will already have experience designing and developing high volume commercial websites across the web, mobile and tablet.

SaleCycle Next up, SaleCycle are looking for a Software Engineer to join their team in Durham. Your role will be to ensure the continuous delivery of current features and services, additionally delivering new and exciting products that keep SaleCycle at the front of the remarketing industry – so your role is incredibly important to the company! You will write code within an agile team environment for SaleCycle’s portfolio of products, which is the backbone of the business! As well you will conduct reviews of existing systems and processes to ensure SaleCycle are always performing to the best capacity. To be successful the candidate must demonstrate commercially programmed experience in a mixture of technologies including C#, .NET MVC/ WebAPI, JavaScript, Golang and JVM based language.

Sky_Betting_and_Gaming_company_logo Again, Sky Betting & Gaming have another engineering vacancy as they’re searching for a junior Automation Engineer for their Leeds team. You will build and support internal tools to bespoke automation of internal infrastructure changes i.e. DNS or Firewall changes, host configuration, command & control and deliver engineering toolsets including Graphite monitoring and Splunk log aggregation. This exciting role also offers the opportunity for progression as a Software Engineer, DevOps Engineer or Site Reliability Engineer in the delivery teams within 12 months. The candidate should already have experience of Linux system administration and be confident programming in at least one language.

SaleCycle Again, our friends at SaleCycle have another engineering role but this time a Software Engineer Team Leader vacancy in Leeds. Unlike the previous role, you will lead a team of engineers to continuously achieve SaleCycle’s goals and visions. You will take up the role of Scrum Master ensuring there is mutual satisfaction for both your team and product/business managers to allow the delivery of high-quality products. The candidate will also conduct analysis of existing business practices, making relevant improvements where needed and support in estimating the size of tasks to ensure effective planning. The ideal candidate will have had previous experience leading a small team of 4+ engineers whilst also have commercially programmed a mixture of technologies including C#, MVC, .NET and JavaScript.

Propel-Large Lastly, Propel are looking for a CTO (Chief Technology Officer) to join an exciting start-up which creates proprietary technology aiming to revolutionise the global e-commerce and m-commerce markets. You will be responsible for the overall technical design, development and engineering strategy for the product. With this position you will have the opportunity to build, grow and manage your own development team and you can buy in products at your own discretion. More importantly you will be the face of technology for the company so you will work closely with the CEO on product design. To be successful for this role you will have a background as a software engineer / back-end programmer / developer / coder, with an expertise in JavaScript, PHP, C++ and JavaScript frameworks. You will also be an expert in Linux and Windows server set-up and administration, database management and a strong understanding of system security.
