So that’s it; Christmas is over and done with (didn’t it fly by in the end?!) and we’re officially into 2013. For lots of people a new year means a new job – if that includes you, you’ll be glad to hear that here at Bubble we have shed-loads of jobs up for grabs that might just tickle your fancy.
For the first official Wrap Up of 2013, we thought we’d take a step away from our traditional online marketing, web development and design vacancies and shine the spotlight on…. eCommerce and Merchandising! From Sussex and London to Hampshire and Wiltshire, we’ve got Online Merchandising vacancies from all over the country in this week’s Wrap Up – you never know, your ideal new digital job could be hiding in this very post!

First up, our friends at Virgin Atlantic are searching for a brand new Merchandising Manager (A La Carte Ancillaries) to join their offices in West Sussex. Based in Crawley, the successful candidate will be responsible for developing the core merchandising strategy for Virgin Atlantic’s unique “A La Carte” Ancillaries and new products and adapting them in line with market changes. Working directly with the Ancillaries Senior Manager, you’ll help to manage product pricing, promotional campaigns and sales channels in order to meet revenue objectives and you’ll also play a key role in motivating and incentivising internal teams to up-sell and meet their targets. Like the sound of this unique and exciting opportunity that comes with seven free flights a year? With an extensive track record in retail or consumer goods, the ideal candidate will have a strong background in strategic planning for short term, rapidly changing projects and will have proven experience with the marketing mix. Other essentials include a degree in commerce, business or economics and the ability to produce great results from well planned strategies.

Next up, the team at Salt are searching for an eCommerce Merchandiser for a well known outdoor clothing retailer based in Malmesbury, Wiltshire near Swindon. The company in question is well established and is well known for providing top quality brands, including North Face and Salomon so this is a great opportunity which can’t be missed! The successful candidate for this vacancy will be required to interpret sales and product data to develop new and innovative ways to boost sales. Key tasks include the line management of three staff members, communicating with various internal departments, analysing sales and product data and working on a top end multi-million pound website. Interested? The ideal candidate will have over three year’s experience in a digital field, will have previous experience working in eCommerce merchandising and retail and will have strong communication skills. Last but not least, the successful candidate will also be highly analytical and will have a strong background in B2C retail.

In third place this week, Purple Consultancy are on the look-out for a new eCommerce Marketing Manager to join a global retail brand based in Central London. Working on a new product, the successful candidate will be responsible for driving and delivering a significant area of new growth for the business development. You’ll be responsible for the development, mechandising, optimisation and marketing of a new platform, developing affiliate relationships and models and improving the translation of customer interaction into sales. Other key tasks include identifying and introducing new opportunities through a clear analysis of consumer usage and engagement with the website and introducing the brand to the target audience. The ideal candidate for this vacancy will have significant experience in new product development with demonstrable marketing understanding, a strong online retail background with clear affiliates experience and the ability to work accurately in a demanding, fast-paced, ever-changing environment.

Next up, B&Q are searching for a new B&Q Digital Merchandiser to join their offices in Hampshire. As B&Q’s latest Digital Merchandiser you’ll be responsible for executing merchandising activity in your brand or category and reporting on the performance of your activities (revenue, stock, customer behaviour). Taking ownership for displayed content, you’ll also help to interpret briefs from the Omni Channel Digital Merchandiser and will manage BAU activities in the transition between different and (in some cases) multiple technologies and platforms. Other key tasks include managing the internal STEP lifecycle (including proofing cycles) and amending simple SSB assets. Sound like your cup of tea? The perfect candidate for this job will have a good knowledge of internal search functionality and available customer analytics tools, experience in writing HTML and a good understanding of both commercial and customer objectives. Other essential attributes include experience of working as a digital merchandiser in a fast moving eCommerce environment and experience in writing briefs for design, complex merchandising rules and product selling data. Last but not least, the friendly folks at Beringer Tame are recruiting for a new Head of eCommerce for a large multi-channel business. Based in the East Midlands this exciting retailer is made up of a number of different pureplay websites under the same parent company. Reporting to the eCommerce Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for the trading and marketing of these sites, focusing on ultimately increasing sales and trading these websites successfully. With a solid knowledge of SEO, PPC, affiliate marketing and mobile marketing, the ideal candidate will be extremely marketing savvy and will also have a good understanding of social media. Extremely commercially aware, you should also have a strong background in devising and implementing innovative ways to drive traffic to websites and will also have extensive experience in managing eCommerce websites.
