Bubble Wrap-Up: Top 5 Business Development & Digital Sales Jobs
By Amy @BubbleJobs
Following the dreaded ‘Blue Monday’, it’s not surprising that lots of you are finally getting around to searching for a new job! OK, so it might have taken the so-called ‘most depressing day of the year’ to kick-start your job hunting efforts but you’re here now and that’s what counts!
This week we’ve decided to take a step back from all things web development and design and go down the digital business development and sales route. Why? Because we’ve got some great names recruiting this week (including yours truly!) and we don’t want you to miss out.
Before I talk you through our top five business development and sales vacancies this week, I should probably point out that some of these vacancies are expiring in the next few weeks so you need to make sure you get your application in nice and early – put it off at your own risk!
First up, we’re going to promote our own vacancy – come on, we don’t recruit very often so I think you can forgive us for taking advantage of our own Wrap-Up, just this once. We’re currently searching for a New Business and Media Sales Executive to join Sarah, Steve and Lucie on our client services team in Tarporley. Working in our leafy Cheshire office, you’ll be responsible for identifying and closing new business opportunities for us across a range of platforms, with a clear focus on direct brands and specialist digital recruiters who are looking to advertise their digital vacancies across the UK and Europe. We’re really looking for a natural relationship builder, a proven new business hunter and a real people-person all rolled into one. Although this is mainly an office-based position, you will be required to organise and attend business meetings with a range of high profile clients across the UK. Fancy working for one of the fastest growing online jobs boards that can offer a great, bubbly (sorry!), non-corporate working environment, endless cups of tea, a local farm shop and a picturesque countryside location? To catch our eye you’ll need to have previous experience in a fast-paced, target-led advertising sales or recruitment agency environment, a proven track record of achieving sales targets and a real passion for delivering great client services. Intimidated? Don’t be: we’re a friendly bunch – just take a look at our video!
Next up, the lovely team at Aardman Animations (you know, those of Wallace and Gromit fame!) are looking for a Digital New Business Manager to join their offices in Bristol. Initially working on a six month contract, you’ll work alongside their Heads of Digital and Partner Content to launch a successful new business strategy for Digital – it’ll be your job to bring it to life by exciting existing and prospective clients with their digital capabilities. Amongst other things, you’ll be seeking out new opportunities, translating them into creative briefs and working with their Producers and Creative teams to help close deals. As if working for one of the most famous names in the animation industry wasn’t incentive enough, in this role you’ll also benefit from umpteen amounts of tea and coffee, a lovely canteen, great colleagues, a flexible work routine and a masseur – yes, really! To stand a chance of bagging this role, you’ll need to have a solid overview of the digital landscape and a good radar for knowing what’s on the horizon when it comes to interactive entertainment and new technology. As a huge part of the job is cultivating leads, you’ll also need to know who’s who in the family entertainment and brands and you’ll need to be a strong presenter – someone who’s confident in front of clients and creatives. Experience of monetising digital content will also win you extra brownie points!
In third place this week, The Little Black Book Agency are on the look-out for a Business Development Manager to join one of Manchester’ largest and most exciting integrated agencies. Working as part of the client services teams, you’ll communicate with new potential clients, showcasing the agency’s credentials and winning new business and you’ll work across a range of disciplines, including advertising, marketing, events, video and digital media production. Tempted by the opportunity to work for an agency that has just won the ultimate accolade for regional marcoms agencies? The right candidate for this particular vacancy will have an agency-side background (either design, advertising, events or digital) and will have a clear understanding of branding and creative work.
Fancy becoming the Business Development Manager for an extremely successful and well-established multi-channel retailer? Beringer Tame could have the vacancy for you! Working for a leading retail name in London, you’ll work as part of the eCommerce team and help to evolve the company’s mCommerce capabilities within the business. From creating business cases for potential projects to identify customer need and profit opportunity to arranging reporting and analysis to determine the success and opportunities of new launches, you’ll do it all in this vacancy and you’ll also work within the project office, outlining the top line implementation plan, budgets required and payback for each project. Sound good? In order to apply you’ll need to be a real online enthusiast, with a passion for putting the customer first, solid client-side experience and strong analytical and communication skills.
Last but not least, Experis are searching for a Business Development Manager – Digital Partnerships to join a forward-thinking, customer-centric organisation in the City of London. Boasting strong B2B business development, digital publishing and content syndication experience, you’ll help to maximise the delivery of the brand’s products and services through developing partnerships with target organisations. Intrigued? The right candidate for this role will have demonstrable B2B field sales, business development or partnership development experience within the area of digital publishing and the ability to meet targets and increase revenue/audience extension. You’ll also have experience of content syndication, having negotiated and managed the commercial teams that have resulted from successful business development and sales.
