Bubble Wrap-Up: Top 5 Web Development Jobs – September 2013

If you’re reading this blog, chances are you’re looking for a new web development job so I’m just going to get right down to it this week and talk you through our five chosen vacancies in the sector.

PIXELGROUPNLFirst up this week, Pixelgroup are searching for a Web Developer to join their team in London. Working for a small established and growing agency, you’ll have the opportunity to lead client meetings and provide inspiration and confidence to clients. You’ll also be responsible for new business development, spotting opportunities and suggesting methods and approaches. With this role, you’ll have the opportunity to grow within the technical department and you’ll join a fun and energetic team of passionate people. Sound good? The right candidate will have a strong knowledge of PHP and web applications and will have experience with CMS/eCommerce systems like WordPress and MVC frameworks like Kohona and CodeIgnitor. They’ll also have a minimum of four years of experience, a proven track record of delivering across web, mobile and social media projects for UK brands and a good understanding of HTML5, CSS and jQuery.

FR-DigitalNext up, Freedom Digital are searching for a Web Developer to join a premium women’s fashion brand in London. Responsible for providing 1st and 2nd line technical support for their websites, you’ll contribute to the coding and testing of regular developments and support releases for each of the brand’s websites. You’ll also support the release of patches from 3rd paty suppliers and you’ll act as the point of liaison between the brand and the external 3rd party platform provider. Sound good? To bag this job you’ll need to have an intermediate/expert knowledge of HTML and CSS and an intermediate knowledge of both JavaScript/jQuery and Photoshop/Fireworks. You’ll also need to have a fashion retail background, strong verbal and written communication skills and be able to manage web projects from creation to delivery.

creation_logo1In third place this week, Creation Recruitment are searching for a Graduate/Junior Flash Developer to join a leading digital agency. Based in Central London, you’ll work as part of a strong in-house development team to create innovative and creative animated banners for a high profile client. With this role, you’ll gain commercial experience within a talented design and development team and you’ll have the opportunity to learn new skills and move into a web development role over time. The right candidate for this role will have strong Flash, ASP, HTML5, JavaScript and CSS skills and will also have enthusiasm, creativity and a desire to learn new skills.


computerfuturesIn fourth place, Computer Futures are searching for a .Net Web Developer to join their client in Edinburgh. Working for an innovative and highly respected organisation, you’ll join their close-knit development team who specialise in developing an important web-based product for the company. In this role you’ll get to use cutting-edge technology and work on extremely important web-services development projects – and you’ll also get the chance to learn cloud computing. The right candidate for this role will have strong .Net experience, good SQL skills and a strong background in web-based technologies such as HTML, CSS and JavaScript.

Based in Chester, you’ll help to produce highly effective front-end interfaces and designs and you’ll help to oversee the front end development output of the design team. You’ll also be responsible for inputting into new business from a creative conceptual perspective and you’ll also keep abreast of the latest industry developments and advise other departments on new innovations and emerging technologies. Sound good? The right candidate will have at least four years of experience with blue chip clients (with a portfolio to prove it), excellent HTML5, CSS3 and jQuery experience and a knowledge of working with GIT. They’ll also need to have a good understanding of Photoshop, Illustrator and Dreamweaver and an excellent eye for detail.
