If you’re one of the hundreds of thousands of people who received their A-Level results today, you’re probably panicking now wondering what your next step will be.
Well stop! You’re not alone!
It’s a daunting time for anyone and if you’re not planning on going to university, the thought of throwing yourself into full time work is a scary prospect – but Bubble is here to try and make it a little bit easier!
A degree is not the be-all and end-all when it comes to getting a job, and with rising university fees and the cost of living, going straight into full time employment can be a much better option.
The job market is so competitive right now, but that’s not to say that you can’t get a great digital job with your A-Levels. The industry is flourishing at the moment, and now is the perfect time to get your foot on the digital careers ladder.
Here at Bubble, we spent ages matching up career paths with A-Levels to give you a bit of an idea of what options are available to you now that you’ve left school or college.
So here’s our handy guide to digital careers by A-Levels – we’ve done the hard work so you don’t have to.
For all of you creative types, digital is a great industry to really show off your skills! Careers like Usability, Web Design and Gaming are all options you can take with the qualifications you have – all it takes is enthusiasm, commitment and a real interest in the digital world to get ahead in these sectors.
History, Economics, Mathematics or Business Studies
For those of you with A-Levels in these subjects, you’ll be glad to know there are loads of digital career options available to you. The likes of Customer Relationship Managment (CRM), Insights or Analytics jobs are perfect for someone with any of these qualifications.
English, Modern Languages or Drama & Theatre Studies
A career in digital is ideal for anyone with these sort of A-Levels. Of course there’s the obvious options of Content Management and Copywriting, but there’s also the chance to go down the route of Project Management and Search Engine Marketing (SEM) to take your first step in the digital industry – and you’ll fit right in!
Music, Psychology, Philosophy & Ethics, Geography or History
If you have come out of college with these qualifications, it can be difficult to know which way to turn. How about a career in digital? A great all-round knowledge and core skills could make you a perfect candidate for a career in Media Buying, Analytics, Consulting or Project Management!
Maths, Physics, Music Technology or Design & Technology
While these might seem like a group of quite random A-Levels to group together, they actually have a lot of similar traits and skill sets that make them perfect for certain roles within the digital industry. Sectors such as Social Media, User Interface (UI), Software Development and Usability. That great digital job could be just around the corner!
English, Business Studies, Drama & Theatre Studies or Psychology
If you’ve got qualifications in any of these areas, you could be sitting on a great opportunity to join the digital boom! The likes of Display Advertising, eCommerce or Pay-Per-Click (PPC) could be a great fit for you and these are fantastic industries to be a part of.
Maths, Design & Technology, Economics, Physics, Chemistry or Biology
With these type of qualifications, it’s pretty clear that you’ve got an analytical mind, which makes you the ideal fit for a career in the digital industry! Testing, Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Quality Assurance, Insights, eCommerce…the list goes on when it comes to the opportunities for you in the big bad world of work!
So it’s clear that there’s loads of paths to take now that those pesky A-Levels are out of the way, and there’s no more exciting industry to be a part right now of than digital!
