All kinds of online gaming jobs

Not so long ago, the jobs most kids- especially boys- wanted most were doctor, fireman, and pilot. In the age of the computer, the list hasn’t changed much but there is a significant addition. Many kids and quite a few adults would really love to be involved in the computer game industry.

Sadly, most give up on this dream and go on to work in ‘sensible jobs’ in other sectors. They are told that there is no point having an interest in games unless it comes along with serious programming skills, and that gaming jobs are rare.

Nothing could be further from the truth. The computer game industry is massive and it requires far more than just programmers and graphic designers. There are offline and online marketing jobs, social media promotion jobs, management and even accounting jobs in this area.

There are dozens of difference specialisations, and no shortage of online and social gaming jobs in the UK. There are good ones to be found and good money to be made.  Just take a look at our job listings- gaming is one of the most popular categories with our advertisers.

If you’ve always wanted to work with computer games, there is no reason not to go for it. While it might be pretty unlikely you’ll ever be paid to play World of Warcraft, Angry Birds, and Lego Batman all day, it takes dozens of people to produce, test, and market every game. There’s no reason you can’t be one of them.
